Man badly hurt after fall from Wicklow waterfall

A Polish man is being treated in hospital after falling 50 metres down a waterfall in Co Wicklow.

A Polish man is being treated in hospital after falling 50 metres down a waterfall in Co Wicklow.

The man in his thirties fell an estimated two-thirds of the way down the Glenmacnass waterfall, near Laragh, sustaining several injuries including head, pelvic and leg injuries.

Gardaí called in the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team to help rescue the man.

He was treated at the scene by Mountain Rescue personnel and then airlifted to Beaumont Hospital.
