Police are appealing to the public for information following a serious assault in east Belfast last night.
Shortly after 9pm a man was assaulted by a number of men in the Strandburn Crescent area of the city.
He sustained facial and body injuries as well as wounds to his neck and right hand.
A PSNI spokesman said a baseball bat was used in the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
