Man arrested over Galway city stabbing

A 31-year-old man has been arrested in Galway after a man was stabbed in the city last night.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested in Galway after a man was stabbed in the city last night.

The 24-year-old victim was stabbed during a row in the city just after midnight and is being treated in University College Hospital Galway. His condition is said to be stable.

Gardai arrested one man at lunchtime today and he is being questioned under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Galway Garda Station.

A Garda spokeswoman said a second man is also being sought in connection with the incident.
