Gardaí investigating the fatal shooting of a man in Finglas on Sunday have arrested a man (29) this afternoon.

Gardaí believe the Sunday morning killing of Kevin Ledwidge (28) at his family home on Ratoath Drive, Finglas, is linked to a personal feud with local criminals over damage to property.

The arrested man can be held for up to 72 hours.

Mr Ledwidge stayed at the house on Saturday night, and at 9.30am the day he was shot once in the chest with a shotgun after answering the door to his killer. He died immediately.

Mr Ledwidge had recently been released from prison after a short sentence for assault.

A large quantity of drugs and an automatic pistol were recovered in a series of searches after the murder.
