A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in Dublin last year.

A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in Dublin last year.

The body of David Whyte (35) from New Cabra Road, was discovered at a derelict graveyard near Stewart’s Hospital in Palmerstown on Friday, September 26th. He had been stabbed repeatedly. It took detectives three days to identify his body.

A 32-year-old man was arrested by officers in Portlaoise today and taken to Clondalkin Garda station for questioning. He can be held for 24 hours before being charged or released.

Last Tuesday a man from the Blanchardstown area was questioned over Mr Whyte’s death and released without charge.

A file was prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A reward of €20,000 has been offered by Crimestoppers for information that could lead to the conviction of the killer of the former security guard.
