A 41-year-old man has been arrested in relation with the murder of a woman in her 30’s in Co Laois last year.
The man was arrested at 7:20am and is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 4 Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Portlaoise Garda Station.
Yvonne O’Shea’s body was recovered from the Grand Canal in Co Laois last November.
The mother of four died after she went into the water between Vicarstown and Athy on the night of Saturday, November 22nd.
At the time it was reported that the car in which Ms O'Shea had been travelling with her husband and their four children had broken down close to the canal shortly before she died.
