A 32 year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of another man in Athlone in October last year.
The suspect is being held at Athlone Garda Station under Section four of the Criminal Justice Act, after his arrest at 7.45 a.m. this morning. He can be held for up to 12 hours.
The victim, Mr Michael Chambers (51), was found underneath Athlone bridge on October 13th last year, having sustained multiple head injuries.
