Man arrested after raid on jewellers

A 30-year-old man has been arrested following a burglary at a jewellery shop in Dublin this morning.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested following a burglary at a jewellery shop in Dublin this morning.

The robbery happened at Ronan Campbell Jewellers in the Citywest shopping complex in west Dublin shortly after 1am.

Gardaí believe a gang of up to three men broke into the store through a window at the rear of the premises and stole an assortment of jewellery.

As the men were leaving gardaí arrived on the scene and a chase ensued. One man was arrested and some of the property was recovered.

He is currently being questioned at Tallaght Garda station under the provisions of Section 4 of the criminal Justice Act, 1984.
