A man has been arrested in connection with the Garda investigation into the death of a 37-year-old woman in Dublin on Saturday.
Gardaí said last night that a 44-year-old man was being detained at Mountjoy Garda station in Dublin under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Gardaí said officers from Mountjoy Garda station had attended a premises at Upper Sherrard Street in Dublin city on Saturday morning after they received reports concerning a female with injuries.
The woman was taken to the Mater hospital, where she subsequently died. Gardaí said all circumstances surrounding her death are being investigated.
A postmortem examination was due to be completed over the weekend but no results were released.
