Man arrested after car chase across north Dublin

A man was arrested this afternoon after a series of incidents across north Dublin.

A man was arrested this afternoon after a series of incidents across north Dublin.

According to gardai, a man took possession of a car early this morning in Ballymun after threatening its owner. The car was later spotted by gardai in Clontarf at 12.30pm. A number of patrol cars gave chase and pursued a man to Sutton where he crashed the car and ran into the sea.

He was arrested and is currently detained at Clontarf garda station. He was not armed and no-one was injured. However a number of cars, including patrol cars, were damaged during the incident.
