Man arrested after Belfast house fire

The PSNI arrested a man today after another man was pulled from an overnight house fire.

Firefighters were called to the scene at Donegall Road, south Belfast, at around 1.45am.

A man trapped inside the property had to be rescued as a small fire on the first floor of the mid-terrace house was put out. He was taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Police then arrested a 48-year-old man.

Elsewhere, PSNI officers are seeking a robber who held up a man before making off on a bicycle.

The victim was held at knife point in a car park at West Street, in Portadown, Co Armagh, at about 9pm last night.
