A 55 YEAR OLD Meath man has been remanded in custody until May 13th for sentence in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court after he admitted six charges of sexually abusing two young girls.

Prosecuting counsel, Mr Patrick Marrinan, asked the court to consider eight other sex charges relating to the girls.

Judge Gerard Buchanan requested the preparation of victim impact reports as well as a probation report on the defendant. The man pleaded guilty to two charges of indecently assaulting one of the girls in 1985 when she was aged seven and again in 1989.

He also admitted sexually assaulting her in 1993 and three charges of sexually assaulting the second girl in 1992 when she was 12.
