A Co Antrim man has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life earlier this week. Mr William McDonnell, of Somerset Court, Rathenraw, was remanded in custody until next Wednesday at a special sitting of Antrim Magistrates' Court.

Mr James Henry Thomas Donley (21), of Devon Square, Rathenraw, and Mr Anthony Gerard McVeigh (31), of no fixed address, appeared before the same court. Both were charged with causing reckless destruction or damage to property. Mr McVeigh and Mr Donley, who denied any involvement, were remanded in custody until next Wednesday.
