A 58-year-old Limerick city man was charged with the manslaughter of his wife at a special sitting of Limerick City Court last night. Mr Christopher Noel Troy, of Peter's Cell, Bishop Street, was charged with the manslaughter of Mrs Elizabeth Troy on Tuesday, July 8th, at Peter's Cell.

Judge Michael Reilly remanded the defendant in custody until July 23rd with consent to bail on his own surety of £1,000 and a £5,000 independent surety.

He is to reside at No 1 Peter's Cell and to report daily to garadi. He undertook not to apply for a passport.
