A man convicted of rape in 1991 was charged yesterday with the murder last September of an Irish student working in Boston on a student visa.

Pedro Rosario (29), a community worker freed on parole following his 1991 conviction, was charged in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, with the rape and murder of Orla Benson, from Muckross, Killarney, a student at Dublin City University. She died of knife wounds.
