Man (80) dead following crash in Co Kerry

A man (80) has died as a result of injuries sustained during a collision in Co Kerry on Wednesday afternoon.

A man (80) has died as a result of injuries sustained during a collision in Co Kerry on Wednesday afternoon.

The man, who was the driver of a car which collided with a lorry at around 4pm at Garranearagh, Caherciveen, was taken to Kerry General Hospital with serious injuries along with a woman who was travelling with him.

The driver of the truck meanwhile was taken to Cork University Hospital.

The 80 year old car driver died as a result of his injuries last night

Gardaí at Caherciveen are investigating the cause of the collision.
