A man was killed in a road crash in Co Limerick yesterday evening. The collision happened at about 6.10pm on the Adare to Limerick N21 road, at Monearla, four miles outside Limerick city.
The male driver of one car, aged 53, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is understood the man, a French national had pulled in when travelling towards Limerick to change a tyre when he was hit by a car travelling in the opposite direction.
The man’s wife, who is also French and who was in the car at the time and the driver of the second car were taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.
