A man (50) died in a house fire in Co Tyrone today.
Tony McDermott died at his home at Waterside Street in Strabane just before 9am.
Firefighters rescued McDermott from the house but he was declared dead on arrival at hospital. The fire is believed to have started in a downstairs living room.
The victim had worked at the Dupont factory in Derry as a clerical assistant and was also employed in the now-defunct Adria women's clothing plant.
The area was closed off while the fire service investigated.
