Man (37) charged with Dundalk murder

A 37-year-old man has been charged with murder after a body was found in Dundalk in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A 37-year-old man has been charged with murder after a body was found in Dundalk in the early hours of yesterday morning.

He was charged the murder of Liam Murphy (43) in Dundalk, at a special sitting of Dundalk District Court this morning.

The dead man was found after gardai were called to a house at Woodview Terrace on the Castletown Road in Dundalk around 12.30am in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The accused was arrested at 3am yesterday and taken to hospital for treatment on an eye injury and later held at Dundalk Garda Station.

Post Mortem results showed the victim had been stabbed.
