Gardaí are investigating a violent assault in Co Clare last night which left one man dead and his brother injured.
The attack occured at Bridge Court, Roslevan, Ennis, shortly before 2am this morning.
It is understood the dead man was 30 years of age.
The man's brother, who in his 20s received serious injuries in the same incident. Gardai confirmed he was rushed by ambulance to the Mid Western Regional Hospital.
Investigating officers sealed off the scene for technical examination. Gardai are conducting house to house enquiries in the area.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.
