A 27-year-old man died after an overnight crash in Co Kildare, it has emerged.
Gardai in Kilcock are investigating the single-vehicle crash at Painstown, Donadea.
The man was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with a tree before falling into a drain.
It was discovered shortly after 11am this morning but gardaí believe the incident may have happened during the night.
The deceased was removed to Naas General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name has not yet been released.
