A man is in stable condition in hospital this morning after an apparent fall from a second storey flat in Limerick city yesterday evening.

The man fell from the window, which is also above a basement, on Henry Street at 6.50pm. He is a 23-year-old Polish national.

He was brought to the Mid Western Regional Hospital where his condition was described as critical last night and stable today, gardai said.

Gardaí have sealed off the area and are investigating if he fell or was pushed from the window.
