A teenager was stabbed repeatedly in an early morning knife attack in Co Louth, gardai said today.
The 19-year-old is recovering in hospital after the incident at Aishling Park, Cox Demense, Dundalk, shortly before 5am.
The victim was found by gardai with a number of slash wounds to his face and body. "The injured man was removed to Louth County Hospital, Dundalk, where his condition is described as serious but stable," said a garda spokesman.
"No arrests have been made so far and investigations are ongoing."
