A motorcyclist has died in a two-vehicle crash in Co Kildare.

A motorcyclist has died in a two-vehicle crash in Co Kildare.

Gardai said the collision happened on the R417 at Stramillian, Monasterevin at 10.45pm last night.

The 24-year-old man was pronounced dead at the Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise.

The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.

A garda spokesman said: “The road was closed for examination by Garda forensic collision investigators and reopened at 4am this morning.

“The Gardai at Kildare wish to appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have travelled on this stretch of road between Monasterevin and Kildangan between 10.30pm and 10.45pm, to contact them.”
