Officials from the Southern Regional Fisheries Board are investigating a major fish kill on the River Deel which happened yesterday. Thousands of fish have been found dead over a two mile stretch downstream from Rathkeale, Co Limerick.

Fishery officials believe the kill was caused by an industrial pollutant discharge.
