The Mahon Tribunal has adjourned proceedings for the day after a witness's counsel was taken ill.

Mr Paul Sreenan SC, who represents the developer Mr Owen O'Callaghan, collapsed and was taken to hospital by ambulance shortly after the proceedings opened this morning.

Mr O'Callaghan was being cross-examined by Mr Liam Lawlor at the time.

The tribunal chairman, Judge Alan Mahon, agreed to a request from Mr O'Callaghan's legal team to adjourn his evidence until next week.
