Geneva - A Russian police inspector has asked for asylum in Switzerland saying he fears for his life after testifying against a suspected Russian mafia leader detained in Geneva, police confirmed that a police inspector from Moscow had aplied for asylum but refused to give more details. The policeman had expressed fears forhis safety and that of his family afer giving evidence here in January against Sergei Mikhailov, who has been in jail here for more than a years.
