This afternoon's race meeting at Ludlow has been given the go-ahead.

Clerk of the course Bob Davies scrapped plans for a 7.30am precautionary inspection after a frost-free evening at the track.

He said: "There's been no problems since 6am and racing is on. The only thing that could possibly stop us is a band of freezing fog but that's very unlikely."

The going at Ludlow is currently good, good to soft in places on the hurdle course.
