In excess of 75,000 people an hour are expected to play the Lotto on Wednesday as the jackpot hits a year high of at least €13 million.

The jackpot includes €4 million of unclaimed prize money, €2 million which was added for St Patrick’s Day and a further €2 million added for Easter.

There was no winner of the Lotto draw on Saturday, which was for a jackpot of just over €12.3 million.

According to the National Lottery, some 60 per cent of players fill in their cards on the day of the draw, while 60 per cent of those do so in the final hours before the draw.
