An articulated lorry carrying around 200 pigs has crashed into a river after a bridge collapsed in Co Kerry this afternoon.

The driver of the lorry is unhurt however, fears have been raised for the safety of the pigs as the trailer of the truck is in the water and the tide is coming in.

The bridge between the villages of Lixnaw to Ballyduff was built fourteen years ago as a temporary measure.
