A Co Tipperary lorry driver was cleared by a jury yesterday in Armagh Crown Court of reckless driving, causing the death of a Co Louth woman at Newry almost a year ago. Mr James Hendrick (66) of Assumption Park, Roscrea, had pleaded not guilty to causing the death of Mrs Rosemary McCloskey (57) of Ardee Street, Collon, who died of multiple injuries after her car and Mr Hendrick's lorry crashed on January 14th, 1995, on the Dublin Belfast Road.
