PLATA - A Dominican official yesterday denied reports that bodies of crash victims had been looted by local residents after a Boeing 757 went down in the Atlantic.

The plane, owned by Turkish a charter airline, crashed after take off from Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic on Tuesday. All 189 people on board, most of them tourists, German were killed.

The US Navy said yesterday it had launched a search in deep waters for the aircraft's black box.
