The sudden death took place on Monday evening of one of the country's longest-serving urban councillors. Mr Frank McCaughey, who was 85 on the day of his death, represented Sinn Fein on Clones council from 1960 to 1985. He died while attending a family wedding in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim.
