Leinster Lions failed to improve on their nine game winning streak this evening, losing by a single point to Sale in Pool Three of the Heineken European Cup.

Despite a late surge, which brought them to within a metre of the Sale line, Gary Ella's side lost 22-23 to the English side at Lansdowne Road.

Meanwhile, Llanelli Scarlets defeated Agen 19-15 in Pool Four, and Edinburgh won out at home to Leeds 19-9 in Pool Two.
