Strasbourg - Three Liverpool football supporters were yesterday starting four-month jail sentences in France after being convicted of a violent attack before their team's UEFA Cup tie with Strasbourg on Tuesday, which Liverpool lost 3-0.

James Kerr (32) from Liverpool, Matthew Godden (21) from Folkestone, Kent, and Paul Roach (32) from Liverpool, were each sentenced to eight months in prison, with four months suspended.
