Limerick porter dies in brawl

A Limerick city hotel porter died at his home following a fracas in Cecil Street, Limerick, early yesterday morning

A Limerick city hotel porter died at his home following a fracas in Cecil Street, Limerick, early yesterday morning. He was Mr John Martin (30), Ballykeeffe Estate, who was unmarried. When he got home, his mother called for an ambulance but a doctor pronounced him dead before he could be taken to the Regional Hospital.

Gardai at Roxboro station were last evening interviewing a man who was helping them with their inquiries.
