Tehran - The EU is pressing Iran to abolish a $2.5 million reward for the killing of British author Salman Rushdie, during the first visit since the Union decided to renew talks with Tehran.

The request for the removal of the bounty offered by an Iranian religious group was made in talks between EU and Iranian foreign ministry officials.
