Lifeboats rescue five people overnight

Five people were rescued in two separate life-boat operations off the Co Clare and Co Kerry coasts last night.

Five people were rescued in two separate life-boat operations off the Co Clare and Co Kerry coasts last night.

Three people have been rescued by a lifeboat off the Co Clare coast after the engine of their boat failed.

The Kilrush-based RNLI lifeboat towed the yacht to harbour just after 9pm. In Co Kerry the Fenit lifeboat came to the aid of a couple in difficultly when their small boat capsized.
