Lifeboat crew strips for fundraising calendar

COURAGE comes in many forms, no more so than for voluntary lifeboat crews

COURAGE comes in many forms, no more so than for voluntary lifeboat crews. As if donning oilskins for high winds and heavy seas was not enough, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) crew in Helvick, Co Waterford, have stripped off in public to raise funds for their station, writes Lorna Siggins

The result is a 2009 calendar, entitled Helvick Uncovered, which also involves members of the local fundraising committee. The station hopes to raise €18,000 from calendar sales, based on a print run of 2,000.
