Moscow - Hundreds of communists yesterday commemorated the death of Vladimir Lenin 76 years ago, praising what they called the Bolshevik leader's saint-like influence on Russian history.

Mostly elderly Russian communists, carrying red flags, flowers and images of Lenin, made their annual pilgrimage. Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov, said that: "Lenin was laid to rest in accordance with the traditions of our fathers and grandfathers."
