RABAT - The Lebanese Prime Minister, Mr Rafik al Hariri, arrived in Moroccan capital Fez yesterday to ask King Hassan to help mediate an end to Israel's five day old air and artillery blitz," foreign ministry spokesman said. Mr Hariri arrived from Paris, where he said he wanted to extend consultations to Morocco and Saudi Arabia to promote his call for a ceasefire.

Mr Hariri said on Sunday he, could not disarm Hizbullah guerrillas and urged Israel to withdraw from the south of his country to be replaced by the Lebanese army with UN help. However, Israel has said the air raids would continue until the Hizbullah guerrillas, who have fired rockets into northern Israel, were put out of action.
