WASHINGTON - A US senator urged Swiss authorities yesterday to investigate 86 Swiss lawyers for allegedly collaborating with Nazi Germany, notably by helping the Nazis salt away assets during the second World War.

New York Senator Alfonse D'Amato sent a letter with the names, addresses and telephone numbers of the 86 to Mr Ulrich Hirt, president of the Swiss Bar Association.
