The National Library has failed to receive adequate funding or attention from the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht, according to Fianna Fail TD Mr Liam Lawlor.

Because of a lack of resources, he said, the library has been unable to display the vast majority of its prints, photographs and maps, or catalogue the remaining two thirds of its manuscripts.

He warned that no provision has been made to find a replacement for the present director of the library, who is leaving shortly.
