Law Society strike likely

A strike by Law Society clerical staff is expected to begin tomorrow after 10 hours of talks with their union, Mandate, failed to achieve a breakthrough yesterday. The dispute was sparked off by the dismissal of a part time secretary, but there are a number of several other issues involved. They are seeking reinstatement of the woman who has lost her job, as well as the implementation of a new pay scale and parity for temporary staff.
