Latvia will expel a Russian diplomat for trying to gain secrets about the Nato defence alliance, the pan-Baltic BNS news agency said today.
A Foreign Ministry spokeswoman declined to comment on the report, but added that the ministry planned to issue a statement later today.
The small former Soviet republic joined Nato late last month and will join the European Union on May 1st.
