The woman who was given first prize for the restoration of an antique chair on RTE's Late Late Show on Saturday night is taking legal advice following allegations that she employed a professional upholsterer.

RTE said yesterday that it had received a detailed statement from Ms Siubhan Maloney, denying newspaper reports that she used the services of a professional in restoring her chair. Because legal advice was being taken, the spokesman said RTE was constrained from making further comment.
