Ladbrokes expects its results for 2007 to be on line with expectations due to "bouyant" growth in its Irish shops and the strong growth of eGaming.

The company said that profits for the four months up to the end of April were in line with last year, with total gross wins rising by 5 per cent, excluding high rollers.

The Irish and Belgian markets saw significant growth, increasing by 23 per cent. This was in contrast with gross wins in the United Kingdom - which increased by just 1 per cent.

EGaming gross wins for the company increased by 11 per cent due to good growth in Sportsbook, Casino and Games.

Ladbrokes said that future over-the-counter trends were hard to predict but that it was continuing to focus on intenational opportunities, particularly in Asia and in Italy.
