PARIS - The German Chancellor, Dr Kohl, said yesterday that he was in no hurry to decide whether to stand for re election in 1998 and that when the time came, he would do his duty and examine his conscience. Asked during a French television interview about an opinion poll published last week which showed 55 per cent of Germans did not want him to run again, Dr Kohl told said: "Of course I don't believe this poll - I have not made my mind up. I'm not evading the question."
