WELLINGTON - New Zealand's main opposition LabourParty has closed the gap sharply on the ruling National Party less than a week before a general election, according to a political opinion poll published yesterday. The TVNZ poll showed support for the conservative National Party dropping six points to 34 per cent, while Labour was up six points to 24 per cent.
