KUWAIT - A Kuwaiti convert to Christianity carrying a Bible and wearing a cross around his neck appeared in court yesterday in the Muslim country's first judicial hearing into a charge of apostasy.
Mr Hussein Qambar Ali (45), a thin figure in western style jacket and trousers, was summoned to the family court to answer a civil suit seeking to strip him of several civil rights because he abandoned his religion.
